Crowds
It has taken me years to figure this stuff out. It was only after my daughter had her breakdown that I started to absorb all of the counseling sessions and start to add things up. This shot of a crowd at the 2012 Cross Country Meet gives a glimpse of what a Bipolar person might envision with any corwd. They are all very animated and having a good time, but the bipolar believes they might be looking at them, or "talking about" them. It can be an all consuming effort to navigate something like this. For me, it has been a part of my life since I was in grade school.

Halloween
When it comes to holidays, we like to celebrate - not as much as the good old days, but putting up some decorations and making it fun for the grandkids. Here we see the two noys, Griffy and Easton, doing there best to compete with the Big Guy. My hope is that they will always keep their sense of humor (and remember Grandpa) when they "do" Halloween in the future years.

Buffalo Bill
When I was driving a Windstar motorcoach back from a 3-day trip to Milwaukee, the guide had a 'special' stop. It was on our way, right along the Mississippi River - a small village snuggled up against the shore - LeClaire, IA. We stopped for a chili and sandwiches at a pub called the Bandit. When I parked below the restaurant, I was surprised to find the Buffalo Bill Museum. It appears that Bill was born and raised in Leclaire, IA. The 'wonders' of driving a tour bus...

Which one?
When you drive a school bus you are bombarded with every emotion that these kids carry onto the bus. Some days are better than others. Some kids are more rowdy than others. Some feed off the 'pack mentality'. Some like to be quiet and left alone. I selected these three, at random, to develop a point. Which one was ADD in grade school? Which one will develop quickly into a bully? Is there a bipolar gene lurking to derail the future of one of these kids? Can you tell by just looking at them?

All adults with ADHD had it as kids
What looks like stress might be something else. Or so reports this weeks Parade Magazine. ADHD signs start young, around age 7, and signs include restlessness, impulsive behavior, trouble concentrating, disorganization, mood swings and tempers, and trouble coping with stress. Now that I have been receiving regular counseling and proper medications, my ADHD has been mostly under control. Now my job is to try to repair the damges done and to warn my children of this pending affliction.

The man who lived in this house suffered defeat and tragedy. He was haunted by anxiety and depression. He married well above his social position to a woman who suffered severe bouts of depression. They endured many weeks apart and the death of one child. She could not live where he finally went for work. This is the 16-year residence of Abraham Lincoln and his wife, Mary Todd, in Springfield, IL.
